The house that we live in has been standing for over 100 years. As a matter of fact it was built back in the 1800’s. This is one of the reasons that I love our house so much! I love all of the history behind it. I also love that my Grandmother lived in this house and my Mother grew up in this house.
My Grandmother raised 11 kids, not all in this house at the same time as some of them had moved out, but then she sometimes even took in some of her kids’ friends. She has got to be a saint, right?
I’m not sure how she did it either.
We have done a lot of remodeling to the house since we moved in.
We are trying to put our own touch on the house and make it more of what we like.
(Not that it was bad before, but we like change.)
We are currently trying to decide if we should remodel the kitchen or start on the bathroom. Both are huge expenses, however I have a feeling the kitchen is going to be our biggest expense in the whole house. While I would love to get it done I think it might be in our best interest to focus on the bathroom for now. We remodeled upstairs and added a bathroom. We have finished almost everything up there except our Vanity. There was a very small bathroom with just a toilet, shower and vanity before we turned it into a Master Bath with a tub and a lot more space. We currently still have the old vanity, which is fine because it works, but I would LOVE to add a new fancy vanity to my new updated master bath. Who knew there were so many different types of bathroom vanities?
I love the antique look and I think something like the vanity in the above photo would look perfect in my old home. Don’t you just love it! Oh how one can dream…
Ok, back to reality! Maybe I’ll post pics one day of our remodeling process.
