This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of discountglasses.com as part of our Spring Guide. All opinions expressed are our own.

I always knew that boys were rough and tough and that if I wanted to have nice things I had better protect them. Those wrestling matches can get pretty intense at times and even Dad has been known to break a thing or two!

It’s true, I guard things that I really love, but sometimes there are just some things that you can’t protect when an all out WWE wrestling match is going on in your living room.

Our oldest son has had prescription glasses since he was about 9 years old. Let me tell you, trying to protect those glasses when on the face of a little boy who thinks he’s indestructible is NOT AN EASY TASK! He was such an active little guy and I just knew the moment we brought the glasses home that we were going to be replacing them often.

Unfortunately, I was right.

We have gone through so many pairs of glasses over the years with just this one child. The sad part, we don’t have eye insurance, so it was costing us a fortune every time we had to replace the glasses. Not only that, but I was having to wait for the new glasses to come in once they were ordered. It was not cool to go to school with tape on your glasses, so I was paying extra fees to have the glasses shipped faster.

Fast forward to now…

I have learned so much over the years. One thing that I’ve learned (now that I have 5 boys) is that I was right to think that boys were rough and tough and I was right to think that those glasses were going to be putting up with an awful lot of abuse. What I wasn’t right about though was that I was going to have to spend a lot of money. I’ve learned that by purchasing our kids prescription glasses online I can save my family a lot of money!

Our son is older now, so he doesn’t really need a back up pair, however we have an 11 year old in glasses as well and I highly recommend having a second (or backup) pair of glasses for younger kids. You just never know when you might need them—-like the time our son forgot his glasses at school, or the time he sat on his glasses and broke them, or maybe the time he was wrestling and they were smashed. You get the point, right?

The next time you are in the market for prescription glasses for any member of your family, we recommend checking out DiscountGlasses.com. Not only did we find awesome deals on glasses, but they are great to work with as well!

This. Is. AWESOME! It’s great to save money on any glasses in general, but it’s EXTRA awesome when you can save on kids’ glasses. Kids are so good at ruining their glasses.

I think the older they get and the longer they have them, the better they are with them, however no matter what age they are, there is still that chance that they might break them! Heck, I’ve sat on mine before! Oops!

I agree! I too started getting my eyeglasses online and save SO MUCH money! I DO have eye insurance but even with it I pay less getting mine online. With kids – oh yeah even worse as they break them all the time. This is a great way to save big money on kids prescription eyeglasses!
