I’m not ashamed to say that I shop at the Dollar Store. As a matter of fact, it’s one of my favorite places to shop. Unfortunately, I am an impulse shopper and I always end up leaving the store with way more that what I originally came for. I’ve tried making lists and I’ve tried setting a budget, but I always end up leaving with a few extra things. While it doesn’t seem like much, it sure does add up over time.
This is why I have devised a plan to save my family money. Not only are we saving money, but I’m saving a TON of time as well. Time is valuable, so I’m super happy about this!
How am I saving time and money?
I’m glad you asked! And I’m about to tell you, but first let’s start with Ebates!
(Above photo is a screenshot we took of an Ebates offer that was going on at the time of this post).
What is Ebates?
Ebates is like my middle man to money savings. I signed up for a FREE account and then anytime I’m about to make a purchase online I make sure I go through Ebates first. Why? It’s simple, every time I shop through Ebates I get cash back and extra money savings! Why wouldn’t I shop through Ebates?
So that I didn’t forget to use Ebates when making my purchases I set my homepage to Ebates.com. Now I never forget to use Ebates and I get cash back and extra discounts on ALL of my online purchases.
Also, Ebates offers a referral program, so you can get cash just for referring your friends! You can turn around and use that cash on your Dollar Store purchases or whatever you want!
Okay, back to my Dollar Store secret.
So, I know that every month my family goes through so much toilet paper, paper towels, deodorant, trash bags, body wash, hand soap, dishwasher tablets, and so forth. Rather then purchase these products every time we run out I simply place an order online at DollarGeneral.com (using my Ebates account), and I order a whole month’s worth of products. It’s great if you have an extra closet, pantry or even a corner in the basement or attic that you can store these products. If all else fails, throw them in tubs and stick them in the garage on shelves! It’s definitely going to be worth it!
I spend approximately $100 a month on all of these products (mind you, we have a family of 7). I get as many products as I can and I purchase items that are on sale or already have low prices. By shopping online I’m saving time, I’m not impulse buying and I’m able to better stick to a budget. Typically Dollar General offers free shipping on orders over $40 or $50 as well. I have yet to date paid shipping on one of my orders. Free shipping, cash back and delivery to your door! What more could you ask for!?
Don’t forget to sign up for Ebates before making your purchases anytime you are shopping online! You can check it out, learn more and sign up—>HERE.
Happy Shopping!
