We took a week long vacation to the Smoky Mountains. It should come to no surprise to anyone that has been reading our blog long, or anyone that knows us well (or even just a little bit). The truth is, we absolutely LOVE the state of TN and would relocate here in a heartbeat if the opportunity ever came available! Enough about me…we have been coming here for years and this was our very first time visiting the Blackwoods Morning Variety Show. We received complimentary tickets for our review, but I must say…the show was totally worth any amount of money we would have paid to see it!

The Blackwoods Morning Variety Show runs every Tuesday through Sunday at The Smoky Mountain Opry Theater. Shows start at 10am, and I must say this is the best way to get your day stated while visiting the Pigeon Forge area!

This world famous family has won 8 Grammy Awards, 27 Dove Awards and 5 All American Music Awards! Now THAT’S impressive!!! It doesn’t surprise me though because they are not only talented, but extremely kind and personable. During our time at Blackwoods Morning Variety Show we got to hear stories about the family and their music as well as a touching story about Donna Blackwood and her battle with cancer- It had me in tears! What an amazing and beautiful woman Donna is, and we are so happy to hear of her faith and how it carried her through those tough times and brought her out of the battle even stronger and more faithful than ever!

The Blackwoods Morning Variety Show is definitely one of the best shows to see in Pigeon Forge, TN!

The cast members were all so very kind. We spoke with many of them in the lobby, and our boys even got a few fist bumps! (They loved that!) This show is definitely one we will be back to see in the very near future! The show was full of good family fun and lots of laughs in between the inspiring and uplifting music performances.

Comedian/Ventriloquist Bob and his wife Marty were such a fun addition to the show! Not only did they make us laugh, but they also spoke with us in the lobby and made us feel welcome! It was like meeting up with a bunch of old friends we hadn’t seen for a while —and this was our first time at the show!

We are so happy that we had the chance to start our day at The Blackwoods Morning Variety Show! This was such an inspirational and uplifting show. Not only did we shed a few tears, but we laughed, smiled, clapped and danced in our seats a little!

We definitely recommend The Blackwoods Morning Variety Show to anyone looking for shows to see in Pigeon Forge, TN!
