So my 6 year old asks me today if he can change his 18 month old brother’s diaper. I think about it for a minute and then decide, why not? He brought the diaper and wipes in and got everything all ready and after he caught his brother (this boy does NOT like to hold still for anything) he layed him down and very gently changed his diaper. What a big boy he is helping Mommy out like that! Now If only he could do all diaper changes! he he
Last night the boys had helped out around the house so Daddy went down to the little store not far from where we live and picked them all up a treat. Our 6 year old had some of those gummy candy fish. He always asks for those. Anyways, he takes a bite out of one and I look over at him and he’s just staring at the other half of the fish. I ask him what is wrong and he is confused. He says, “Mom, I think the fish just pulled my tooth out!” Sure enough, when he bit into that little fish his tooth was pulled out and was sitting in the other half of the fish. This was the first tooth he has lost and he was really excited. (Once the bleeding stopped, of course.) I think had he not had a little help pulling that tooth out it probably would have stayed in a little longer. He was so excited when he woke up and found a dollar under his pillow this morning! He came running down the steps all excited yelling, “Mom, I got a dollar from the tooth fairy and I want to go to the store and buy some more fish so I can lose another tooth!” He he!
My 4 year old comes to me yesterday and tells me that he wants to build a hotel for kids in the backyard. They sure do come up with some funny stuff! Of course, I have already gotten quite a few offers from family and friends to book rooms for their kids! Ha ha! 🙂
Another thing that has been weighing on my mind lately is teacher gifts. What are you all giving the teachers this year? I have 3 preschool teachers, 3 forth grade teachers, and 1 kindergarten teacher to buy for this year! I also like to get the bus driver a little something too just because he is so great and we don’t want to leave him out! I had thought about baking some cookies and candy, but would love to hear what everyone else plans to do.
If you are a teacher I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on both good and bad gifts.
Thanks!
