I’m sure you can already guess by reading my title to this blog that the boys decided to get the slip and slide out today. They just love playing in the slip and slide! We bought a pool this year, but never got around to putting it up. Maybe next year! However, our slip and slide has gotten very good use! Today was a very hot and muggy day, so it was perfect weather to play in the water outdoors. We lathered all of the boys up in sunscreen and headed out for some fun! After slipping and sliding around for a while the boys decided they wanted to do something a little different. I was playing with the baby and helping my hubby (more talking and watching than helping, but I like to say I was helping..he he) while he was prepping an area that we leveled out and tilled up for the play set. We laid landscaping plastic down today and are planning to add small gravel to the area and then put the play set in the center. I didn’t really pay a whole lot of attention to the boys putting the hose at the top of the slide and then sliding down the slide. I thought, well probably not the smartest thing to do, but I don’t see it hurting to much. So, I let them go for a little bit, and surprisingly no one got hurt! After doing this for a bit their little wheels were turning and they came up with an even better idea! They carried the slip and slide to the bottom of the swing set and slid down the slide and across the slip and slide with the hose still at the top of the slide! Here is a pic of our 4 year old at the top of the slide. Of course, the older boys send him down first to test it out, and of course he doesn’t have a problem doing anything dangerous! He is our little monkey! He will do anything once…or twice…or three times…you get it!
Other than playing outside and trying to relax we didn’t do a whole lot. I did make it to the grocery today, which was a long overdo trip! I have been going to Kroger lately and I love it! I am saving so much! I clipped a few coupons, downloaded a few on my Kroger card online (did you know you could do that? Just go to Kroger and coupons and then download them straight to your Kroger card. How cool is that!?) Anyways, I got a very overflowing cart full of groceries today. They rang me up and my total was a little over $170 (which actually wasn’t bad considering all that I got)but after they swiped my Kroger card and took my coupons my total ended up being $127!!! I was so impressed! I’m going to start clipping coupons more often now!
