I’ve done it time and time again…rushed around to get out the door at the last minute knowing I should have been ready hours ago. Not only have I rushed myself, but I’ve rushed my whole family making them feel the stress and anxiety that running late brings along.
And for what?
Hurry up! Get your shoes on. We are running late! Let’s go, we’ve got no time to waste.
How many times have you said at least part of the phrase above?
How do you feel when you finally get to your destination?
Frustrated? Stressed? Relieved?
And for what?
We often joke that our 3rd born son runs on his own time. Since I don’t use my children’s full names, but all of their names start with a C, I’ll just say we call it “C” time. (We actually use his full name). When he was younger it was no big deal that he was running on “C” time because he was small and carefree, however the older he has gotten, the harder it has been for others in the family to understand why he had to be so slow.
I look back on all of the years now and I have thought…What if we all ran on “C” time?
Wouldn’t life be simpler if we were rushing less and relaxing more? Wouldn’t life be happier if we threw the stress and rushing out the door and took time to enjoy things and relax?
This week I challenge you to run on “C” time.
What do I mean? I’m saying, slow down. Take time to enjoy every second of your day. Life goes by faster than we think. Why not take the time to enjoy it?

I need to put the “Slow Down” sign in my house! You are right that life goes too fast and I do want life to slow down a bit!
