Ever feel like you just don’t have enough time in the day?
I am sure most of you are shaking your heads.
Lately we just haven’t had enough time in a day. We don’t seem to have time to rest and relax and have fun. Don’t get me wrong, we are spending time with the boys and they are out playing with friends and so forth, but we aren’t doing near as much as we would like to be.
I’m actually quite glad school is about out and that we will be attending baseball games and stepping away from all of our little projects from time to time.
Remodeling a house can be a lot of work, but remodeling and selling 2 houses is a ton of work!
That’s right, for those of you that might have missed it, we have decided to move closer to family. We will be sending the boys to a private school and are just praying that everything works out as planned, although we have to keep reminding ourselves that God’s plan isn’t always the same as what we may originally have envisioned.
We are learning to be more patient.
If you pray for patience, he isn’t just going to give it to you…he will teach you to be patient. Wow, do I have a lot to learn!
Let me start by saying that we had great news a couple of weeks ago. We got an offer on the investment property. The offer wasn’t quite as high as we would have liked it to be, and since we had just put the house on the market we decided to counter the offer. We dropped the price of the house quite a bit in our counter, but it wasn’t enough for the couple and they walked away. The very next day they called back and asked to go through the house again (mind you, this was their 3rd time through the house). We agreed thinking that they were probably writing up another offer. When a day went by and we didn’t hear anything we called our realtor to find out what was going on. She called their realtor who stated they were no longer interested. What? Weird, but okay, we move on.
About a week passes and we are getting ready to lower the price of the house. It had only been on the market for a couple of weeks, but we want a fast sale so we can get our other house on the market and purchase our new home. Again, this couple comes back with an offer–the same offer they brought us the first time. This time we end up working something out and the house is under contract.
And then…we get the call on Friday that the contract fell through.
Bummer.
While we want to be upset, and this is going to put a little wrench in our plan and possibly keep us from purchasing the house we have our eye on, we know that it just wasn’t meant to be. This was not part of God’s plan. We are going to sit back and try our hardest to be patient until something else comes along. Who knows, maybe we’ll even get an even better offer next time?
In the mean time we are busy working on our current home. We are renovating the main bathroom, finishing trim work and doors in a lot of the rooms, and remodeling the 2nd family room. It sounds like a lot of work, and I’m not going to lie, it is. So, if I’m slacking on my posting, you know why.
We have 2 boys playing baseball this year as well, so we will be on the diamonds at least 4 days a week, sometimes more.
Maybe I should just nap now?
Do you have a busy summer ahead?
What are some of your summer plans?

We’ve been crazy busy, too! Between the kids’ activities and remodeling several rooms in our house and picnics/parties, we are booked solid. I need to relax! I’m really looking forward to school being done so we can let go of our strict routine a bit.
I hope it sells soon for you! Good luck!
