We often hear of break-ins and other awful crimes in the news and I have to say that it is a bit scary. We used to think of our town and the surrounding neighborhoods as a very safe place to live. It seems that crime is growing no matter where you live.
Keeping my children safe is one of the most important things to me. I know that I will not always be able to be by their side, and I can not always hold their hand, however I will do what I can do to keep them safe while they are in my home.
When I was younger you didn’t even need to lock the doors of your homes. You knew all of your neighbors and everyone that ever came down the street. People waved as they passed by, and things felt safe. I wish we could say that it was the same these days, however times have changed. I can no longer say that I trust everyone I pass on the streets or that I would leave my doors unlocked when we are away from home, however I must say that there are ways to still keep your family safe in times like these.
Some people are turning to home security systems such as home security barling where you can get advanced security. These systems offer really unique plans to work with everyday customers. I think they are similar to companies like Direct TV, who offer a free system with the purchase of installation and so forth. (At least this is how it worked when we had our satellite installed.) I like that things are easy and that it isn’t as expensive at it was when home security systems first came out years ago.
Some of the ways that we plan to stay safe this summer are…
Never walking alone, always checking our surroundings, always telling someone when we are going to be going somewhere, keeping doors locked at all times and security systems on when need be, phones close by for emergencies and we always have first aide kits available (especially with BOYS, you never know when they will come in handy.)
What is your advice to staying safe this summer?
