A couple of years ago my sister and her family were faced with something no parent would ever dream…their child became sick. Now when I say that he was sick I do not mean that he had a little cough. No, he was so very sick that he had to be admitted to a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and my sister and her husband were left spending nights on a tiny couch in a small hospital room for months with no indication as to whether their son was going to get better or not.
Brett was just 2 years old when he was admitted to a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for an infection that lead to his kidneys shutting down. He was in the ICU with both parents by his side and had thousands of people locally and through the internet praying for his well being. We all knew little Brett was a fighter, but watching him in that hospital room looking so helpless while they removed all of the blood from his body, cleaned it and replaced it back into his body was something I would never wish upon anyone.
We traveled about an hour and a half to visit with my sister, her husband and their sweet son. We prayed and we prayed and we prayed. Thankfully our prayers were answered. Brett is now a happy and healthy 4 year old little boy. While he does still have some minor obstacles to overcome, he has come a long way and is able to carry on his life just like any other 4 year old little boy.
We were so very thankful for the care that Brett received at Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

I thank God every day for CMN. Without it Brett would not be here today. Every year at this very time is very hard for us. As 2 years ago at this time we had no clue if our son would be coming home with us or not. Brett was fighting for his life. But with the help of CMN our son is a happy 4 year old. CMN is so wonderful!
