When I was younger I would often jump before thinking things through. I would do things on a whim and just because they sounded fun or someone else wanted me to do them —peer pressure is a horrible thing! There were times in my life, especially now as an adult, that I look(ed) back and and realized that those were bad decisions. I was given a choice and I didn’t always take the best road traveled. That’s the great thing about God though, he allows us to make choices, not only because he loves us, but also because he wants us to learn. I can now look back on the things I did in the past and I can see where I went wrong and why I should have done things differently. I can see how I have grown because of my bad choices and I can see where God played a roll in my life so that my bad choices didn’t destruct me completely.
Do you have something going on in your life that has you contemplating between what is right and what is wrong? Try asking God to guide you in the direction that is best for your life. Just remember that sometimes what we think is right in our lives isn’t always what God thinks. Sometimes he answers our prayers so differently from what we had in mind, yet things turn out SO much better than we could have ever imagined. Being able to trust in him and know that He loves us and He wouldn’t steer us wrong is awesome….really awesome.
I recently found myself questioning the path God had led me on. I found myself stress beyond my normal level of stress and questioning everything under the sun. I sat down and I prayed and it wasn’t until I was in church last Sunday that it hit me…I am exactly where God wants me to be. As long as I have faith in God everything will fall into place. You see, sometimes when we turn and start to follow God…walk down his path…we will be met with challenges and resistance. It’s ok though because as long as you are faithful and you continue to follow God, he will see you through these challenges. If a mountain gets in your way…tell it to move! That’s what God wants us to do. He wants us to lean on him and on our faith.
I can not see the air I breathe, however I know it is there, and I trust that it will be there to help me survive each day. Trust in God as you have trusted in the air you breathe.
