There’s nothing like treating your child to a fun, enjoyable birthday party, but we must not forget to ask our child what they would like their party to be like. Listening to what he/she would like when it comes to food, games and birthday cakes will definitely make it a more enjoyable party for everyone.
It doesn’t take much to plan a birthday party celebration that your child will love, and one that is easy to manage. Below are some tips on how to throw a memorable birthday party for your child.
Choose a Theme:
Having a theme your child will love not only makes the party fun, but it also makes it worth remembering (for your child and his/her guests as well). Ask your child what themes interest them. It’s nice to give them suggestions to help them make their decision, especially if they are young.
Make a Guest List:
Making your guest list is one of the easiest parts of planning a birthday party! If your child is old enough you can have him/her invite friends from school or other clubs. (As many or as few as you would like). You may want to add some close friends and family to the list as well.
Create the Invitations:
Once you have your theme you can start creating the invitations that you will send out to party guests. You can design and print yourself, purchase in-store or online. Make them as simple or complex as you like. Don’t forget to include all the important details such as time, date, location along with the RSVP info.
The Decorations:
The decorations are a fun part of the party, however you don’t have to go overboard. Streamers and balloons work great and are fairly inexpensive as well. Matching paper plates, tablecloths and napkins can be another added touch to make the party a little more fun.
Plan the Birthday Menu:
Planning the menu is one step that you need to get done asap so that you’ll be sure of what to make yourself and what you will buy from the outside. Also, see if you have any specific guests with ‘food limitations’. The birthday cake can be ordered or baked if you’re into baking. While there are many possible ideas for the cake, having it shaped like your kid’s favorite cartoon character or superhero will work great. Need birthday cake ideas ? Games:
The games and activities that you choose for your party should be age appropriate. Keep in mind the age of all of the children that will be in attendance so there is something for everyone of each age. Also, some people prefer to have goodie bags or small treats for prizes—this is optional. Traditional games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey or Hit the Pinata can be fun for most age groups.
Have Fun!!!
