Did you know that today is National Walking Day?
The first Wednesday in April has been chosen as National Walking Day for the American Heart Association.
Why not get out and do a little walking today?
I posted the other day about being chosen to participate in Dr.Weil’s Walkabout campaign. In case you missed that post, you can find it HERE.
Not only am I super excited about the new products I received, but I’m excited about walking…yes, I’m excited! I actually love taking walks with my boys, however I don’t typically fit our walks in often enough. Now I have a reason to make sure we are out walking! I love bonding with my boys and I love teaching them to stay active and be healthy!
Yesterday I laced up my super cute new shoes and we headed outdoors for a stroll down the street. The boys decided to ride their bikes this time while I jogged/walked along beside them. I am amazed at how just a simple walk can make you feel. Not only do I always feel more energized once I start a workout routine, but I also feel happier. Walking is an amazing stress reliever. I think more people should take a minute to “walk things off”. It really does work!
What do you do to stay in shape?
What do you do to manage stress and to relax?

Great post! I am loving my walks too! Some days I feel like my walking time is spent walking around the grocery store, but any movement is good movement!

I walk and take the bus because I have no wheels. If I had wheels I would still walk the 4 blocks round trip to the grocery store though. I cannot believe I have healthy neighbors that still drive 2 blocks to the grocery store! Unless you are buying the store out, it makes no sense to me.
