We typically watch a bunch of fireworks for 4th of July, however this year we decided to stay home and watch them from afar. We were able to see fireworks that our neighbors were lighting off and it was just nice to be home and relax.
Don’t get me wrong, our weekend was full of a lot of FUN and a lot of work.
We started off by going to our oldest son’s 2nd Tournament game for baseball. While they did not win, they did play a good game and my son made me very proud. He is going into the 6th grade and up until this year has never played a sport in his life. He got into the game so much and is gaining so much confidence. After the game we went out for ice cream. We don’t just celebrate wins in our house, we like to celebrate the effort and the fun of the game. Later that day my sister, her husband and their two boys came over for a cook-out. We took the boys to the park, batted around in the batting cages and played some ball on the diamonds.
Here is a photo of what brick dust will do to a child! He was covered in it-they all were!
We had a lot of fun with sparklers, a few smoke bombs and fun little fireworks for the kids, a bon fire, and a lot of smores and other goodies. It was a good time for all.
The next couple of days have been spent remodeling. We are hoping to get this house finished once and for all. We moved in here 5 years ago and have been remodeling off and on since. It’s getting tiring and I’m ready to be done! I will post pics soon.
Since school has been out and the boys have been with me 24/7 I have had so many stories to tell, however I have not had a lot of time to hop on here to type them all up for you to read.
I plan to post more about our everyday events as time permits.
For now here’s a story…
My 3 year old goes to the bathroom outside.
I say to him, “Why did you POOP (yes, he pooped outside!) outside?
He says, “My brothers pee outside and I had to pee. I didn’t know I had to poop too!”
Well at least he didn’t do it in his pants, right?
Silly boys!
