Growing up I never really had to worry about my weight. I was always pretty thin (although I didn’t always see myself that way) and I could eat whatever I wanted. It wasn’t until I started to have children that I started to struggle with weight issues. You could say that I’ve fluctuated a ton over the years. One minute I feel really good in my skin and am saying that I’ll NEVER let myself get to the point of being overweight again and then the next thing I know I’m crying over a pint of ice cream wondering how I let myself get to this point again.
I’ve figured out my problem.
What is it, you ask?
My problem is that I use food (and drinks) to comfort me, and I LOVE sweets. I have a real addiction going on here and I didn’t see it until just recently. My body has become so used to the sweet treats that it is addicted to them. (For real).
So, what am I doing about it?
After seeing many friends and family members lose a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of weight with Medifast, I have decided to jump in (with both feet) and give it a shot. What have I got to lose? Hopefully a bunch of weight! 🙂
So, on Monday, April 25th, 2016 I started my Medifast diet.
I’m actually pretty excited about this diet because I’ve tried many diets and they have been REALLY hard given the fact that I didn’t care for the taste of the foods. It’s not like that with Medifast. The shakes are delicious! I think the vanilla shake tastes like birthday cake and the chocolate shake is like drinking a chocolate milkshake when I add ice to it. Yummy! I’m able to satisfy my sweet tooth without the calories and negative effects on my body. I have had digestive issues for some time now (even had my gallbladder removed last year) and up until recently I have not had any comfort. I definitely needed to change the way I eat and treat my body, and I’m happy to find a weight loss program that offers delicious taking foods!
(Sorry about the photo quality. Boy does my face look pale! This is the photography of a 12 year old! haha!)
I’ve been struggling with writing this post. Why? Because I feel like in order for you to totally understand and in order for me to totally take back my life, I have to share my BEFORE pics with you. No one likes to share the before pics, especially when they don’t have the AFTER pics right next to them. The struggle is real!
But, I’ve committed to this and am determined to share AFTER pics with you in a couple of weeks. I’ve set out on a 30 day weight loss challenge and plan to show you a leaner and happier me in 30 days time! I hope you’ll stick around and follow my little weight loss journey as I post my weekly updates.
Ok, this is hard, but I’m going to share my starting weight…
After 1 week I was already seeing the scale move. I have to admit though that I did cheat from time to time. We’ve been SO busy that there were days when I would swing through Subway or grab something quick on the go. I made better choices, but have still snacked on things that I shouldn’t have a couple of times. I hope to be better these next few weeks. Oh, and I did swing through the coffee shop a few times as well. I’m a real sucker for fancy coffee!
I’m in a wedding in August and I plan to HAVE to take that dress IN!
Check back next week for my weight loss update.
