This wasn’t our first time visiting the Dixie Stampede. We’ve actually been there a few times and our boys even chased the chickens once! If you’ve been to the show, you’ll know what I mean!
For those that have never been to or heard of the Dixie Stampede…
The Dixie Stampede is a dinner show in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Now, when I say entertainment, I certainly mean it! The Dixie Stampede is not like any show we have ever seen before! The performers are professional and some of the stunts they perform are even dangerous—like riding 2 horses at once…while standing! There are people flying in the air (it’s quite beautiful), professional horseback riders performing stunts you won’t see anywhere else, and the food….oh the FOOD! The food is amazing! I’ve heard people talk about the food in the south and how much they love it, but we didn’t expect to get this full, have this much fun and enjoy the show THIS much the first time we attended.
When we plan a trip to Pigeon Forge our boys instantly chime in that the Dixie Stampede must be on our list of attractions!
We always leave the show with a full belly (the soup is so amazing, as are the other foods). You will enjoy a full four-course feast. We were served creamy vegetable soup, tender whole rotisserie chicken, hickory smoked barbeque pork loin, buttery corn on the cob, herb-basted potato, hot homemade biscuit, apple turnovers and our drinks! Doesn’t it all sound delicious? I’m getting hungry just thinking about what we ate!
When we asked our boys their favorite parts of the show they all gave different answers and each one had a hard time deciding. They all loved the Skeeter and his chicken dance! He was quite funny and his pig race had our boys laughing their little butts off! The buffalo were a huge hit with our boys as well! They were amazed to see the buffalo run out and were even more impressed when they herded them all up and lead them out of the arena. The birds were beautiful as was the dancing bird! The whole show was awesome! We may have visited 3 times already, but we will definitely be back—it never gets old!

That looks like so much fun. We’ve been to a rodeo and a chuck wagon as a family before, but never a stampede – we need to do that!
