Wow, it has been some weekend!
As most of you already know, we have an investment property that we have been working on. We purchased the property and took possession just before Christmas last year, so we haven’t had it THAT long. We were hoping to have it on the market by the beginning of March, however things have come up (my husband hurting his back and traveling for work) and we are now looking at “hopefully” having things complete by the end of March/beginning of April.
When they say investment though, it really is just that. We have come across a lot of things that we hadn’t originally figured in the budget and are down to the wire and counting pennies at this point, hoping that we make out in the green. Our goal is to sell someone a really nice house that they won’t have to do any work to for a very nice price.
The whole family has worked on the property and it has been great teaching the boys how to do things. The only bad thing is when we go home and we walk into the room to find our 20 month old trying to peel up our kitchen floor! Yes, he has done this on several occasions! Yikes!
On Tuesday we are meeting with a Christian school. The plan is to tour the school, see how we like it and then decide if we would like to look further into the option of switching the boys to this school, or keep them in their current school. Surprisingly, the boys are really excited about this, which makes things a whole lot easier on us. As parents we only want what is best for our children.
If any of you are homeschoolers I would love to know what you think of Abeka? We were told that this is the curriculum they use at the Christian school and that a lot of home-school parents use this curriculum.
Please share your thoughts.
Thanks!
