Our family enjoys the outdoors so much. We love spending time in the woods and hiking and really enjoy cookouts. One thing that has been great about the last 2 homes we have lived in is that they both have had a deck. I’m not sure what we did before we had our deck! It seems that for many the interior of their home is great, picture perfect, but the outside is lacking something…it’s lacking the entertainment spot, the spot where everyone can gather and enjoy the company of one another. Softwoods timber decking is one company that can make the backyard look like a completely different place.

There are so many different choices when it comes to decks. I was quite surprised to learn of all of the different options. Who would have thought you could do so many fun things with your backyard!? Below are a few of those options we thought you might like to learn about.
A Single Deck

A single deck on the back of a home can provide a family with a comfortable place to entertain and relax. The deck is usually where all the patio furniture is stored along with the grill. Constructing the deck from bare timber creates a rustic and cabin-like feeling in the backyard.

The deck can be extended to a second level that the family can use for other entertaining purposes. That portion of the deck allows the family cover from rain and wind. The furniture used on the lower level of the deck can be even more comfortable. It is much like extending the interior of the home to the exterior of the home.

Wraparounds

Decks that wrap around the house are often helpful because they provide many different areas for the family to enjoy. A swing can host the children, and there can be a reading chair on the side of the home. These same decks can wrap around the pool that the family has in the back of the home.

Wraparound decks can make the home look larger because they create volume on the side of the home. The best way to use this style of timber decking is to offset the colors of the home.

Each new deck the family installs can change the way the home appears and is valued. The deck creates more space for the family, offers entertaining space and makes the home more attractive.
