Do you whistle while you work?
How about texting while you walk?
What would you do if you were told you couldn’t walk and text at the same time?
And if you did walk and text, you would receive a fine.
Would you continue to walk and text, or would you park your butt the next time you sent/received a text message?
I have to say, being the tight wad I am, I would probably park my butt!
You won’t find me forfeiting over $85 just for texting–nope!
Haven’t heard about it?
We found a nice little article all about Texting While Walking Banned in New Jersey town.
The article states that in Fort Lee, N.J. police will begin issuing $85 jaywalking tickets to pedestrians that are caught texting while they walk.
Why?
Because it’s a big distraction. People aren’t watching where they are going and are not aware when they are texting.
So, what do you think of this?
Sara Phillips says
You know, I don’t do it often, but I HAVE texted while walking. It’s HARD to do!!!
I think if you are walking on a sidewalk, then yeah, a fine might be in order so that you don’t walk into the street and get run over. That being said, if you want to text and walk in your house or back yard, go for it!
