Yesterday I looked over at my youngest and noticed there was a lady bug on his shirt. The boys get really excited when they see bugs! When I pointed it out my 4 year old ran over to capture it before the baby had a chance to eat it or anything. Yes, I said eat it because at this age he really doesn’t care what goes in his mouth, he just thinks he has to see what everything tastes like. Silly boy!
Our 6 year old heard all of the commotion and he came running into the room! I am really surprised at what amazes them. He wasn’t in the room long. He gave the 4 year old orders to keep the bug in his hand, not let it go for any reason, and not to squeeze it too tight, then he left the room. A minute or so later he came flying back into the room with a ziplock bag. At this point I’m just sort of watching, not sure of what they are going to do, but I’m thinking they are probably planning on making that ziplock bag the bug’s new home.
The 6 year old and 4 year old disappear again for a couple of minutes and then return to the living room with big smiles on their faces. They whip this ziplock bag out from behind their backs like it is a big prize they want to show off! As I look over I notice that not only is the bug in the bag, but the bag now has water in it. Hmmm…what could they possibly be up to?
Then my 4 year old yells out, all proud of himself, “Mommy, look! We are teaching it swimming lessons!”
Ha ha! Silly silly boys!
