You know, I started this blog over 4 years ago writing about my boys and my life. It was a great outlet for me. I have always loved to write and this was like my very own online journal. It started slow, but quickly grew, until I was eventually so overwhelmed with requests that I quit pitching companies myself. I started reviewing products that I sometimes could have cared less if we ever got to try them. I started writing about things that I know were sometimes boring for our fans. I started to get stressed because I had too much to write about and not enough time in the day. Yeah, I was getting paid in products or sometimes cash to write about this stuff, but I have now come to realize that it’s not always worth it.
I want my blog back.
I want to find my own niche that I once thought I had, but have totally lost in the mess of crazy writings.
For anyone that has been following me for a while, you might remember when I was writing about home renovations and posting photos of the whole family flinging hammers and ripping things up. I plan to bring that back…very very soon. I have a very talented family and I want the whole world to see it. We do not currently have any projects going for me to tell you about, however we have big plans, which include flooring, lighting, a bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel (that may be down the road a bit), finishing out our basement and MORE!
So stayed tuned because the real Raising My 5 Sons is coming back!
But don’t worry, we love you and plan to continue to speak our mind about products we review (we are just going to be more selective) and we won’t get rid of the giveaways either!
More to Come on Raising My 5 Sons…

The reviews/giveaways start to burn you out! I’m not as enthused about them anymore either, I totally get what you’re saying. You have to weigh the time versus the product.
Looking forward to reading about your adventures!

Good for you, you don’t want to stop writing about what made you happy in the first place. Then it is too much like a chore and not enough about who you really are! I love the remodeling posts, I’m just bad at always commenting on blogs. But I always love seeing before and afters of homes (must be why I like watching those kind of shows on tv)!
