There really never is a dull moment around here. Raising 4 sons is definitely not something I ever imagined, yet I could not see myself doing it any other way now that this is my life. I love that I have 4 boys! I love the craziness and the laughs as well as the bone crushers (hugs that my 4 year old gives, this is what he calls them) as well as the sweet kissies. I know that one day my boys are going to grow into great little men, and I am so very proud of everything they have done up to this point.
Have you ever found yourself getting a little upset just because your child spilled a drink on the floor or did something that you know they didn’t mean to do? I think we all do it from time to time. My 4 year old spilled a drink the other day and I said darnit when he did it. He looks up at me with his sweet little eyes and says Mommy, I’m really sorry, you want me to clean it up? How sweet is that!? Of course, I told him I would clean it up and that it was no big deal because I knew he didn’t do it on purpose and accidents happen.
The boys love to play school (not that they don’t get enough of it during the day, but when they come home they like to play it.) However, they like to roll play and pretend they are the people with authority-the teachers, principal, gym coach and so forth. I love that they enjoy learning and that they like to try to teach their little brothers, however it is quite funny when our 4 year old comes out all proud that he got an F on his paper. He doesn’t quite understand the grading scale (which is probably a good thing) but his brothers don’t quite understand that he just can’t do the things they can do. They do grade him well most of the time though. It’s even more funny when the baby tries to join in and they try to teach him how to color and even just sit still! I love just sitting back and watching them play sometimes. ๐
My baby LOVES to help pick up! He sure can make a mess, and fast (as can all of the other boys!) But, he also likes to clean up. Actually my baby and my 6 year old are my great cleaning helpers. The other two will help out as well, but only if they know they are going to be rewarded for it. I would have to say that our 9 and 4 year old are a lot alike. Anyways, here is a pic of our little guy with his little sweeper (it does work, however is not plugged in) helping Daddy sweep the living room floor. I just love it! ๐
